Uintfsjh Utfes down Union and Provo The Uintah Utes own track triumphs over the Union Cougars, Duchesne Eagles and Provo Bulldogs. Uintah downed Provo, Tuesday, April 13 by the score of 73 to 49 and lost to the Orem Tigers. The Utes toppled Duchesne and Union in a track meet held recently in Roosevelt. Rick Morton captured first place in the 100 meter dash and Troy Liebhardt netted third place in the meet with Provo and Orem. Morton captured second place in the 200 meter dash and Liebhardt placed third. Jerry AUred collected first place in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:25.9 and Randy Haws nabbed third place at 4:57.2. Haws also placed third in the 3200 meter run at 10:41.1. Mike Johnson placed first in the 400 meter dash at 52.9 and AUred picked up first place honors in the 800 meter1 run at 1:59. Robert Schultz placed third in the shot put and Jody Young placed third in the pole vault at 11'6". Morton captured second place in the long jump at 20'94" and Liebhardt, Morton, Johnson and Greg Limb nabbed first place in the 400 meter relay at 44.04. Uintah's mile relay team, Johnson, AUred, Blake Ewell and Bart Steinfeld, netted second place. Gary Galley placed second in the high jump at 6'0". Galley, Uintah, placed first in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.63 in the meet with Union and Duchesne. Lar-sen, Lar-sen, Union, placed second at 18.6 and Pat Dugan, Duchesne, captured third place at 19.09. Uintah's Ken Curfew placed fourth at 19.28 and Johnson, Union, nabbed fifth place at 21.11. Morton, Uintah, picked up top honors in the 100 meter dash at 11.23 and Liebhardt, Uintah, placed second at 11.44. Potter, Duchesne, placed third at 11:58 and Uintah's Limb captured fourth place at 11.6. EweU of Uintah netted fifth place at 11.7. Union's Lefler pocketed first place in the mile at 5:05 and Calvin Knight, Uintah, placed second at 5:07. Uintah's Steve Merkley placed third at 5:09 and Phillip Holdway, Uintah, netted fo.,. at 5:11. Uintah will host Mountain View, May 4. Uintah's tennis team has a mark of 3 wins and 5 losses and has a record of 1-5 in Region 7. The Utes have defeated Union, twice and Pleasant Grove.
