Show Woman hits flower bed causing injury A Vernal woman was transported to the hospital early Thursday morning after driving into a concrete flower bed in front of the Vernal Junior High School, 721 W. 100 S. Julie A. Yates, 20, of Vernal was traveling east in the north parking lot of the school when she was blinded by the morning sun. Joe Lance, Vernal, was traveling south on 500 East in Vernal when a pickup driven by Kathleen Bowthorpe, 36, turned in front of him while making a U-turn.
