Show Netters drop one pointer The Tigers thumped the Utes, 5-0. in Orem on April 5 and it appeared that a shutout was going to take place once again as Orem won the first three matches for a 3-0 lead, but the Utes avoided the shutout with wins in the double events to lose by one point, 3 to 2, to the Tigers in Vernal, Friday. Mike Wolfgram, Orem, won the first singles match as he downed Uintah's Mike Crowell, 6-3, 6-4 and Mike Gividen, second singles, toppled Uintah's second singles netter, Greg Clark, 6-0, 6-1. Orem's third singles Alan Anderson thumped Dale Crowell, 6-0, 6-1. Uintah pocketed its first victory when Adam Massey and Lynn Bigelow won the first doubles match. Massey and Bigelow won the first set, 7-6 and dropped the second set to Chris Webb and Jerry Pierce by the score of 6-3. Massey and Bigelow won the match with a 6-2 win in the third set. The Utes gained their second win in a row when Mike Saupe and Ken Golding thumped Tatskki Sunada and Scott Sanderson, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0. The Utes have a region mark of 1-6 and have an overall mark of 2 wins and 6 losses. |
