Show Furry fritter hides in school Vernal police and state Division of Wildlife Resources conservation officers of-ficers expected the worst-a furry fight on their hands-as they captured a wild badger that ventured out of the wilds and into Vernal Junior High School, 780 West, 100 South. Police Thusday received first reports of the animal in the neighborhood south of the school just before noon. There was concern that the benign-looking creature would get nasty if bothered by children. DWR conservation officers said they would take the animal back to its natural habitat. Using a trash can, they cornered the badger behind a vending machine in the school's foyer. A maintenance worker said the badger entered the school through an J open door alter digging some sizable I holes. J |
