Show Red Fleet water Dear Editor: As you know we are having a large buildup here in our Ashley Valley, and due to this situation there are farmers who are selling their land to developers. Therefore, the water they were irrigating with has now become available for domestic use. This has been taking place for sometime and will continue until almost all of our farms are built on or industralized. . This brings up the question: What are we going to do with all of that fresh mountain water that flows out of the mountains to us? When we don't need it to irrigate with, why not drink it instead of spending 20 million dollars to pump water tous from Red Fleet. Mr. Editor, Red Fleet water won't be cheap. I read your Jack Straws article and am surprised to find how liberal you have become in your thinking, that the government can do everything cheaper than we can do for ourselves. Have your forgotten that the government can also take away everything we have? Sincerely, CARL OLDAKER |
