Show Labor market fair set Uintah Basin Businessmen and secretaries will have a chance to gain information on a wide range of labor information Thursday, March 20, 1981 in the first of a kind Labor Market Information Fair at the Uintah Basin Area Vocational Center. The Fair will run from 12 noon to 1:30 pm. in the UBAVC mall and will feature a number of experts in various labor fields answering questions and generally dealing with specific problems. Ray Sargent, labor market information specialist for Job Service will be a guest speaker and will have information related to growth trends and other elements of population growth in the Uintah Basin. Leo Tiongson will also provide some live entertainment. A luncheon will be served at the fair to the participants. "There will be a number of booths set up and people who attend the fair can spend as much or as little time as they want at each booth," said Tom Nordstrom, Nord-strom, Job Service office manager in Roosevelt. "In the past we have brought in a couple of speakers on specific subjects, but we found there was too little time to deal with specific problems. With this booth format, that will allow the participants par-ticipants to spend the time where they need the information. The Labor Market Fair is spoasorcd jointly by Job Service and the Uintuh Basin Area Vocational Center. "There are just so many things that businessmen and secretaries need to know to plan for the future," Beverly Evans, chairman said, "and this fair can give real assistance with information in-formation that will be of great value." She pointed out that several programs to encourage employers to hire certain workers can result in tax breaks and other benefits. "There will be a lot of information that business people and educators can use and I would like to sec as many possible take advantage of this," said Mrs. Evans.
