One aggravated assualt charge faces Vernal man Sterling (Smokey) Burton has been charged with one case of aggrivated assault and is incarcerated in the Uintah Uin-tah County jail. Burton alledgedly caused a broadside broad-side accident approximately one mile west of Maeser which caused $1200 damages to the vehicles involved and minor injuries to Burton's ex-wife. According to investigating officer Trooper Lloyd Mecham, a Chev Suburban Subur-ban driven by Burton was west bound . out of Maeser about 10:30 a.m. Monday when he intentionally struck an ElCamino driven by Dennis Trujillo in which Nanette Burton was a passenger. The Trujillo vehicle was rolled on its . side by the force of impact and landed in a ditch at the side of the road. Burton was arraigned Tuesday before Judge Kenneth Anderton on Aggrivated Ag-grivated Assault. Trooper Clayton Allred UHP assisted at the accident scene.
