Show Vernalites tour in East A group of Vernalites returned last week from a 17-day tour of historical places in the East. . Mr. and Mrs. Harland Hodgkinson, Mrs. Ronald Winn all of Vernal; Mrs. Kenneth Tidwell, Salt Lake City and Jack Doyle, Murray City left for the east after attending the Albert E. Hodgkinson reunion in American Fork. The tour group visited all LDS Church historical sites such as Hill Cumorah and saw the pageant, Nauvoo, Palmyra, New York, Independence, In-dependence, Mo.; and also visited many U.S. historical points of interest such as Arlington Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, Lincoln Memorial', the White House, and the Liberty Bell, Gettysburg, Get-tysburg, Penn.; saw Lincoln's tomb in 111. and also saw the Eisenhower Memorial in Abilene, Kansas. Prior to leaving on the tour Harland Hodgkinson was voted in as president of the Hodgkinson 1980 reunion with his brother Aubra and Jean Peterson as assistant. This year the reunion was under the direction of Varian Hodgkinson and Adrian Hodgkinson both of Orem. |
