Show GI ines L Scouts spend night out at Grizzly Ridge Scout Master Jack Nelson Jr took his Scout Troop No to Grizzly Ridge Friday where they spent the night in n the cabins They were accompanied ac ace companied by their fathers and brothers Approximately 35 enjoyed the outing Some of the fathers took their snowmobiles some had sleighs and some had tubes The snow was perfect for forthe forthe forthe the outing and everyone had a avery avery avery very good time They returned home Saturday afternoon at 4 pm p.m. Glines Second Ward held their Ward Conference last Sunday Visitors at the Conference Con Con- ference Terence were the Stake Presidency and the Stake Sunday School officers GLINES SECOND Ward have organized a ladies choir Their first performance was at Sacrament Meeting last Sunday afternoon Kathy Allen is at home recuperating after surgery recently at the Uintah County Hospital Mr and Mrs Billy Cook have moved to Davis Ward to live at atthe atthe atthe the ranch owned by his father Floyd Cook Mr and Mrs Jack Nelson Jr took Mrs Nelsons Nelson's grandmother grandmother grandmother grand grand- mother Anna Lucero to Salt Lake Sunday Mrs Lucero has been staying at the Nelson home since November 8 8 Mr and Mrs Larry Rhoads and five children are new residents in Glines Ward They recently moved here from Duchesne MR AND MRS FLOYD Cook returned home from Salt Lake Sunday where they had been since Thursday with Mrs Cooks Cook's mother Eliza Herrington who has been in St. St Marks Mark's Hospital for extensive heart tests Mrs Herrington is scheduled for heart surgery on February 7 Mrs Herrington is also the mother of Fern Reynolds of Vernal Mrs Ray Jenkins and son Kenneth Jenkins went to Mountain View Wyoming Friday where they they spent the night with Mr and Mrs Jeff Jenkins and family another son of Mrs Jenkins Glines Second Ward Primary girls under the direction of their teachers Sandy McCoy Karen Easthope and Carolyn Sawyer held a Daughter Daddy Soda Shop Hop Saturday night at atthe atthe atthe the Chapel They were served hamburgers Shop Pop salads and sundaes Costumes were from the 1950 styles The girls and their fathers wore decorated socks and had a dance contest Everyone was awarded prizes There were 10 girls and their partners Approximately Approximately Approximately Ap Ap- Ap- Ap proximately 26 people in all attended Everyone had a very good time They all had practiced practiced dancing before the party GUESTS AT the home of Mr and Mrs Paul Lemon are Margaret Lloyd of Roosevelt who is Mrs Lemons Lemon's mother and Marilyn Gibbs and daughters Rakell and Michelle from Altamont Altamonte Mrs Gibbs is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Lemon Clifton McCoy recently visited in Orland California with his son and family Mr and Mrs Miles McCoy He visited in San Jose California with a son and family Mr and Mrs Walter WaIter McCoy and with his sister Gladys McCoy at Walnut Creek California He is now in Salt Lake and will return to Vernal within a few days Mr and Mrs Lyle McKeachnie and family went to Page Arizona to a nurserymen's nurserymen's nurserymen's nur nur- convention The family returned home from Page and Mrs and Mrs McKeachnie went on to Phoenix then to Los Angeles where they toured some nurseries in California They were gone ten days returning home Sunday night Dinner guests at the home of Mr and Mrs Berle Derle Bell Dell to honor Mrs Bell Dell on her birthday were Royal Horrocks Neola and their son and family Mr and Mrs Rick Bell Belle Roger Holfeltz of Or Orem em visited the past weekend with his parents Mr and Mrs William Holfeltz Sr GLINES CLINES FIRST FInST Ward Primary had two new Primary workers sustained Sunday at Sacrament Meeting They were Brenda arenda Cook as teacher and Nadene Griffin as music director Tuesday they are having loo percent day to encourage encourage encourage en en- courage all children and Primary workers to be sure to tn attend Friday January 28 28 Glines First Ward Primary girls held their Daughter Daddy party under sponsorship of Kelly Boren 2nd Counselor who was in charge assisted by Kathleen McKeachnie president Edith 1st counselor and Primary teachers Barbara Wilson and Karen Karm The theme was Daddy you are the Cream of the Crop They enjoyed relay games for which prizes were awarded danced with their fathers and gave a program in which they explained explained ex ex- the Merry Miss Program to their fathers Each girl was presented a special letter written to them by their fathers The hall was decorated in barnyard style including pictures of milk cows old plows lanterns etc Eight girls and their partners attended attended at tended making approximately 25 people in all They were served chili corn bread salad ice cream and cookies Everyone had an enjoyable time |
