Show Beta Xi holds kidnap victims for ransom The Beta Deta Xi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held a kidnap coffee last month at the Scout House The members dressed as western outlaws and calling themselves the Ms gang rode throughout Vernal holding up businesses and kidnapping businessmen and town officials Kidnap victims held at water pistol point were taken to the out hide-out and held there for ransom At the out hide better known as the Scout House Rouse victims were served coffee and donuts After paying a ransom of their choice victims were then released and taken back to their places of business Various businessmen and town officials participated and the ransoms or donations were deeply appreciated by the club members The members of the sorority plan to use the money money collected to purchase a wheelchair toys and books to be donated to the pediatrics department at the Uintah County Hospital Also a has been voted to to be donated to the Childrens Children's Department of the Uintah County Library The members had intended to purchase a TV to be donat donated d to the hospital but upon pon learning of the difficulties in maintaining the TV and hookups at the hospital they have decided to wait until the new hospital is completed before attempting this special project The members of Beta Xi leir thanks hanks to 9 aH of pf the he generous generous people who whoso ISO so p to the project A special thanks was extended to the Vernal City Police Department and the Uintah County Sheriffs Sheriff's Department for their support and cooperation by Cary Gary Hanks publicity chairman for the club |
