Show Gateway Club Elects Officers The Duchesne Gate-way Club met at luncheon on Thursday evening of last week and after a delicious luncheon lunch-eon was disposed of the club decided that the election of officers was next in order, Three men were nominated for president: R. G. Porter, Ed Hart and O. C. Ixckhart. Mr. Lockhart refused re-fused to have his name considered. The vote was close between Porter and Hart Porter winning by one vote. Ed Hart was unanimously elected elect-ed vice president and W. A. Pax ton was unanimously chosen to fill the office of secretary-treasurer. E. W. Crocker, chairman of the airport air-port committee, reported that some additional work had been clone on the. alriort but suggested that an airport day should be set and that the people of Duchesne close up business and put one day on the field. Mr. Crocker stated stat-ed that one day should put the airport air-port in good condition for a landing field. October 10th was decided on. .A copy of a petition from the Inter-mountain Inter-mountain Flying Automotive Service Company was presented. This petition was addressed to the Postoffice department de-partment at Washington in the interest inter-est of an airmail contract. The business busi-ness men of Duchesne had already signed a petition presented by the Seagull Sea-gull people. John Madsen made a report of the water committee. The committee was given further time to look into the water situation. The following committees were appointed: ap-pointed: Lloyd Pope, Guy Hollen-beck Hollen-beck and W. A. Paxton were appointed appoint-ed a committee to look up a suitable meeting place for the ch:i. Entertainment Entertain-ment committee: Orron Smith, Dr. Bishop and James Mickelson. The matter of the road from the state highway from Antelope bridge to the north country was taken up and Jay Pope, John Madsen and E. W. Crocker was appointed to go Into the matter with the county commissioners commis-sioners and the people living In this Bection. |
