Show Local Aviator Has Narrow Escape While attempting to make a landing at the local airport, Sunday Sun-day afternoon, J. R. Pope enroute from Vernal to Salt Lake met with an accident in which his plane was badly damaged. A heavy wind across the field forced him to attempt at-tempt to land in an alfalfa field adjacent to the runway. One wheel hit a ditch bank crumpling landing gear and turning the plane on its nose. Two wings were , badly damaged, landing gear smashed and propeller broken. Mr. Pope luckily escaped-without; - personal injury. |
