Show Myton News by Grace Dalgleish -Mr, and Mrs. Earl Butler accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Potter-and their two sons from Salt Lake City to enjoy meeting meet-ing the Myton members. At the close of the service the large group enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by members of the Ladies Aid. Visitors Sunday at the ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. Gareth Anderson were their son and daughter-in-law, who came from Provo to spend Mother's Day, Mr. and Mrs. Theo Anderson. The Music Festival at Vernal Ver-nal Friday drew a large group of music lovers from Myton. Mrs. Loryn Ross returned home Friday and had an enjoyable enjoy-able vacation trip. She was met in Salt Lake by Linda, Wayne and Charlyn, members of her family, and Kent Bender of Fort Duchesne who participated partici-pated in the outing to Salt Laket Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dart Sr.4 enjoyed a visit from members . of their family on Mother's Day. Ralph Dart Jr. and Mr, and Mrs. Alarik Myrim who are attending USU at Logan came to spend Mother's Day. Mrs. Myrin is the former Beth Dart. A no-host dinner was enjoyed en-joyed at the ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Lamb on Mother's Day. Participating in the event were Mr. and Mrs. William H. Linck, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Delber and Mrs. Beth Malloy. A Farewell Testimonial honored Elder Stewart Norman Dennis Sunday evening at the Myton L.D.S. Ward Chapel. A son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis L. Hardin ger, he was honored prior to his departure for the Brazilian South Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints. A crowded chapel enjoyed an excellent program and service prior to leaving for the Brazilian South Mission, Caixa Postal, 778, Curitiba Parana, Brazil, where he will be stationed. Mrs. Anna Murray, Mrs. Dawna Dennis, Julie Dennis, Mrs. Virginia Smith, Mrs. Rose Gilbert and Mrs. Bernice Haueter were Salt Lake City visitors Saturday, attending to geneology research. The Mariners of the First Presbyterian Church of Salt Lake City will conduct services at the Myton Presbyterian Church Sunday, May 15. On . May 22, Ivan Lytle of Christ Methodist Church will present the service. There will be no service on May 29 (Memorial Day weekend). June S Rev. Roth, representative of the I National Board of Missions of Utah and Idaho, will conduct the regular Sunday service. Vacation Bible School will again come to Myton June 6-10 6-10 when a group from Wasatch Academy from Mt. Pleasant will spend a week here. A cordial invitation is extended to everyone to meet this group. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Deller are enjoying a visit from Mrs. Deller 's mother, Mrs. Beth Malloy, who recently recent-ly arrived from Long Beach, California. The Ladies Aid of the fires-byterian fires-byterian Church held their regular monthly meeting Thursday Thurs-day afternoon at the home of Mrs. Laura Preece in Roosevelt. Roose-velt. The session was conducted conduct-ed by President Dora Griffin of Vernal. Plans were discussed discuss-ed for the date of the Ladies Aid Tea, and June 15th was selected. At that time a recently re-cently completed quilt and other items will be raffled at the church. Mrs. Preece and Mrs. Rosabell Morrison, co-hostess, co-hostess, served a delicious dessert luncheon to the 15 members at the close of the meeting. Mr. Aften Richens is reported report-ed a steadily improving patient following surgery in a Salt Lake City Hospital. . Mrs. Ray Thompson is visiting visit-ing in S. L. C. to be with her husband who is confined to the Veteran's Hospital. Visitors at the ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Henrik-sen Henrik-sen Sr. from Thursday till Saturday, were their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs, R. L. Baker, who came by plane from LaMirada, Calif. , via Nebraska and Kansas, landing land-ing at the Roosevelt airport Thursday morning. Mrs, , Baker is a pilot and her husband I will soon receive his license. Others who joined the family gathering were Mr. and Mrs, R. L. Henriksen who came from Qrem to join the other family members. To enjoy a three week vacation vaca-tion trip, Mr. and Mrs, S, F. Mortensen Sr. left Sunday. They will visit Mount Rush-more, Rush-more, the Blackhills of South Dakota, Peru, Iowa, the home of Mrs. Mortensen's sister; Blockton, Iowa, to visit two brothers, and a sister; then on to Memphis, Texas, where their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Stevens and family reside. re-side. They anticipate returning return-ing home about May 29th. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Ross were Salt Lake City business visitors Monday. Miss Lila Rae Crapo visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Crapo during the weekend, She is attending BYU at Provo. Mrs. Emma Tanner, known to her host of friends as "Grandma", "Grand-ma", returned home Saturday from Spring Glen (Carbon County), where she spent the winter months at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Olson. She was very ill during the month of January and is now greatly improved. Special Mother's Day services ser-vices were conducted Sunday at the Presbyterian Church under the direction of the Central Christian Church of Salt Lake City with Mrs. Floyd Potter presiding in the pulpit. A vocal duet, 'Where There is Love at Home" was rendered by Nancy and Mary Schwartz, accompanied by Mrs. Melvin Schwartz, who also played the prelude, postlude and hymnal accompaniment. |
