Show fishermen find dead man been missing 10 days by margaret beatie all we know about some people is what we read in the papers or hear over the radio and what happened to lawrence hood and george imal will prove ively that when me go fishing anything can happen these two fishermen left here last week and went up to the cra ter of the moon national bonu ment on to the lower falls in west yellowstone then over to coffee pot rapids where they caught few fish so it was decided that th they go on to yellowstone they se cured a cabin at the roosevelt lodge and decided to fish in a smaller stream called power creek it was a beautiful and picturesque place to fish and believe it or not they caught the limit there on friday george being a gov employee when three or four clock came around suggest ed a break so he was taking it while mr hood went on up the stream he went upstream and around a bend and there he saw a fellow fisherman taking what he supposed was a break the same as george he said nothing and watched him for a while the man t move but just lay a cross the log mr hood thought it was strange upon going over and investigating he found the theman man to be dead he called george and george thinking he d found a better fishing spot came quick like you can imagine his ewhen i he discovered what his partner had found a dead man neither man knew that the fellow fisherman had been missing for ten days it took them forty five minutes to walk back to the road they timed themselves in order to be able to return too the place chev then located a ranger who told them they had been searching tor for ten days for the missing man at 8 30 saturday they returned to the place with the rescue party and brought the dead fisherman out his name was J P adams of burlingame california A retired army major the man mr hood stated must not have been fee feeling well when he started out for he had deft left a note saying that it if he was not back by a certain time for his wife to start looking for him he knew the country well and had been coming to yellow stone for years regularly to fish death was believed to have been caused either by heart failure or exhaustion well by that time the boys were about through fishing for this trip they returned to lava hot springs on sunday where they enjoyed the healthful mineral waters and in ci dentally ran into remo Poli dorl doing the same thing when I 1 talked with mr hood tuesday night as he whipped up a salad in the kitchen of the TOD pharm acy he was not in what one would call fighting trim but said in spite of it all they did have a nice trip |
