Show UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR NATIONAL PARK SERVICE Notice of Intention to Negotiate Concession Permit. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 5 of the Act of October 9, 1965 (79 Stat. 969; 16 U.S.C. 20), public notice Is hereby given that thirty (30) days after the date of publication of this notice, the Department of the Interior, through the Director of the National Park Service, proposes to negotiate a concession con-cession permit with Adventure Bound, Inc.; American River Touring Association;. Colorado Outward Bound School; Colorado Color-ado River and Trail Expeditions, Expedi-tions, Inc.; Hatch-River Expeditions, Inc.; Holiday. River Expeditions, Inc.; Ken Sleight Expeditions; Mokl Mac Expeditions; North American River Expeditions; Outlaw Trails, Inc.; San Juan Expeditions; Expedi-tions; Sidewinder River Bxr peditions; Tag-A-Long Tours, Inc.; Tex's Tours, Inc.; -Tour West, Inc.; Western River Expeditions, Inc.; Wild Water West of Canyonlands; and World Wide River Expeditions authorizing them to continue to provide concession services for the public at Canyonlands National Park for a period of one (1) year from January 1, 1979 through December 31, 1979. An assessment of . the environmental Impact of this proposed action has been made and It had been determined that It will not significantly affect the quality of the environment, and that It is not a major Federal action having a significant impact on the environment ' under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. The environmental environmen-tal assessment may be reviewed review-ed in the Office of the Superintendent, Canyonlands National Park, 446 South Main, Moab, Utah 84532. The foregoing concessioners have performed their obligations obliga-tions to the satisfaction of the Secretary under an existing contract which expires by limitation of time on December 31, 1978, and therefore, pursuant to the Act of October 9, 1965, as cited above, is entitled to be given preference in the renewal of the contract and in the negotiation of a new contract. However, the Secretary Secre-tary is also required to consider and evaluate all proposals received as a result of this notice. Any proposal to be considered and evaluated must be submitted within thirty (30) days after the publication date of this notice. Interested parties should contact the Superintendent, Canyonlands National Park, National Park Service, Moab, Utah 84532, for Information as to the requirements of the proposed contract. Peter I.
