Show Moab churches presenting variety of programs for holiday season Churches in the Moab area will be presenting a variety of services and programs during the Christmas season. The First Assembly of God, South Highway 163, will present a special program entitled, "How Great This Love," at 7 p.m. this Sunday, Dec. 17. Thursday night, Dec. 21 a youth banquet, featuring guest speaker Rev. Charles Ather-ton Ather-ton from Rifle, Colo, will be held. On Sunday, Dec. 31, a watch night service will be held. On Sunday, Dec. 17, the Episcopal Church of St. Francis, Kane Creek Rd., will conduct a Childrens Advent Liturgy, with Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m. At 6 p.m. on the 17th, a Twining of the Green to decorate the church will be held. On Dec. 24, Holy Eucharist will be conducted with a birthday party for Jesus following the ceremony. On Dec. 24 caroling will begin at 10:30 p.m., with a midnight mass later in the evening. On Christmas Day Holy Eucharist will be conducted at 11 a.m. St. Pius X Catholic church, 112 W. 4th N., will hold a midnight mass on Christmas Eve and a Christmas Day mass at 10 a.m. During the Eucharistic Celebration, the congregation will be invited to join in singing Christmas carols. The Seventh Day Adventist church, 3rd E. 1st N., will hold a special school program on the evening of Dec. 21, beginning at 7:30. Friday, Dec. 22, a special Vespers program will be conducted. conduct-ed. Regular services will be held Saturday, Dec. 23 with singing, from 11 a.m. to noon. |
