Show Group Hears Report on Ski Study ; Members of the Ski Study subcommittee of the Grand County Economic Development Develop-ment Committee, traveled to Salt Lake City Monday to review the nearly-completed study with contracting firm, Envirccon, Inc. Director of Economic Dev-- Dev-- elopment Don Hoffman stated stat-ed that although the report has. not yet gone to the printers, prin-ters, or to the Four Corners Regional Development Commission, Com-mission, it appeared that the report looked quite favorable at this time. The study, which has been done over a period of a year and a half, was funded primarily pri-marily by a grant from the Four Corners Commission.. "What happens from this point on, is pretty much up n thp Fmir Corners DeoDle." Mr. Hoffman said. The study has determined that sufficient snow falls on slopes that could produce very adequate ski conditions, and attempts to show that market conditions in the west might support a development in the LaSals. Although contractors pointed out that the status of possible lands involved was not considered in the feasibility- study, it appeared that . State, Federal and private lands would be involved. Areas Ar-eas studied included slopes on the northeast side of the mountain in the vicinity of Beaver Basin. A development in the La-. Sals would have ' to be ; a major development, the study contractors agreed, and ': a number of problems, particularly particu-larly those involving environmental environ-mental awareness and land status, would have to be worked out by any potential developer. .
