Mariiuana-Drug Arrests Tagged On Numerous Transients This Week Instances of persons in possession pos-session of controlled substances sub-stances have kept Moab City Police and Utah Highway Patrol officers busy this week with some nine persons arrested. ar-rested. On Tuesday, City Police and Highway Patrol officers, guided by a man who was 'suspected of growing the plants, were taken up the Colorado and Dolores Rivers to several marijuana farms. In all some 2,000 plants were taken or destroyed. The man, Jack Mansfield, had been arrested ar-rested three weeks ago and . convicted of possession of a controlled substance in Moii-ticello. Moii-ticello. The local officers were aided in the search for the plants by officers from; the Monliccllo Police Department De-partment and San Juan County Coun-ty Sheriff's Office. On Aug. 6, Stephanie Shaw, 22; Carl L. Duncan, 20; and Michael Pokress, 25, all from the Aspen, Colorado area were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled con-trolled substance. They were found in possession of mescaline, mes-caline, marijuana, LSD and some unidentified pills. They were arrested by City Police and Highway Patrol officers. . Two ycung women from the Chicago, 111. area were arrested on Aug. 7, and charged char-ged with possession of controlled con-trolled substances, moth phe-tamine phe-tamine and marijuana. The arrest, by City Police and ITghway Patrolmen, same after an all night stake-out of the residence used by the women. Arrested were Charlotte Char-lotte P. Kotik, 23 and Marilyn Mari-lyn E. Fay, 28. Three juveniles were arrested ar-rested last Friday at 11:30 p.m. at Crescent Junction. The youngsters were from Denver, Cole., and were arrested ar-rested by Troopers Charles Weber and Ron Wood of the Highway Patrol.
