Show Hanksville Hews Notes . . . by Barbara Ekker Word was received here of the death of Thomas Hopkins, 57, at the Fruita, Colorado Lower Valley Hospital, following a lengthy ill-iness. ill-iness. Services will be held in Indiana where he resided before moving to Cainsville in the early '50's where he and wife, Beth, purchased farming property. He was a World War II veteran. Mr. and Mrs. George Jackson, Siguard, are the parents of a 6 lb. 13 oz. .baby girl born Dec. 21st in the Sevier Valley Hospital. Grandparents are Mr. and Mr. Dee Jackson, and Mr. Elmer Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. RodSell-I RodSell-I ers and six children and a niece left early Friday Fri-day to spend Christmas holidays at Bellflower, California with relatives. The Hanksville Ward Primary Christmas program pro-gram will be presented at 6:00 p.m. Christmas Eve with Miss Sybil Marie Ekker as narrator. The Primary children will present the Nativity scene followed by numbers num-bers from ward families. Mrs. Gladys May and two daughters from Green River and Mrs. June Young and Jerry Clark from Bull Frog attended the Christmas program Thursday evening even-ing presented by the elementary el-ementary schoolchildren under the direction of Mrs. Debra May. Al Simpson is at Van-denberg Van-denberg Air Force Base in California on an assignment as-signment as Combat Crew Commander at the Missile sites. Prior to this new assignment he was a Squadron Commander Comman-der at Cheyenne Wyo. where he and wife, Lucille Lu-cille Ekker Simpson, and daughter Angel make their home, and Lucille teaches school. Butch Bullard has been in Denver, Colorado this past week on business. Mrs. Unis Gass has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Eula Allen, from her Salt Lake home. She accompanied Fern Hunt, who manages the Poor Boy properties. Dr. Hooker stated on his visit to the Hanksville Hanks-ville Clinic that Dr. Gadd from Salina will hopefully hope-fully join the staff at the Hanksville Clinic. |
