Show Camping Luxury Provided At Moab's Modern KOA Located just 5 miles south of Moab on U.S. Highway 163, Moab KOA (Kampgrounds of America) provides camping luxury as well as a central location for trips around scenic Canyonlands Country. KOA is the campground with a view. Relax in quiet country atmosphere where there's room to see the mountains, the valley, and ihe red rock formations, with no mosquitoes to lessen your enjoyment. Whether you are traveling in your 1 camper, pulling a trailer, or roughing it in a tent, there is room at Moab KOA to accommodate you. Clean rest rooms, showers, and laundry facilities all combine com-bine to make your stay here one of comfort. Groceries and ice provide any last minute necesities for a noonday lunch or evening meal. Also available in the store are souvenir items unique to Canyonlands including candles shaped like Delicate Arch and Balanced Rock and paintings on native sandstone. Travelers with campers and trailers will find drive-through and back-in spaces with electric and water hookups at their campsites. A sanitary disposal station is centrally located for their convenience. Leavecamping equipment set up while you explore Canyon Country during the day and return to a safe camp at night. Camp supervision is provided at all times. For the youngsters there is playground equipment to keep them busy while mom and dad relax after a day of sightseeing. Red Rock cliffs are just a short distance from the campground for evening exploring. Your hosts, Bob and Merline Kyle, can provide plenty of information, about what to do, where to go, and what to see while! you are here. Within only a few miles of KOA, visitors may enjoy a ride on Moab's Slick Rock Bike Trail which is administered by the Bureau of Land Management'; travel through rugged canyons where only ' 4-wheel drive vehicles or horses can go; ride the Colorado River ! rapids or enjoy a trip on the only paddlewheel river boat west of the Mississippi Missis-sippi River; or enjoy many scenic sights from the comfort of your passenger car. Just over 50 large, well-maintained sites are available at KOA to accommodate the traveler. Although there are now spaces for tent camping, a secluded section is under construction construc-tion which will be used exclusively for tents. Completion is set for early this summer.
