Show San Juan Area Groups Hosted by Moab Seminary Moab LDS Seminary, under the direction of Moab Seminary Semin-ary Principal Cloyd Atwood, hosted the first annual Seminary Sem-inary Scripture Chase and Seminary Howl Contest, April 15. Visiting contestants were Monticello, directed by Gary Lund, and Blanding, directed direct-ed by Lyle Heinz. . ' The first activity was the Junior High Scripture Chase. Blanding totaled the most points, 47, in this particular contest. Moab's Junior High Seminary Bowl Team accumulated accum-ulated 140 points in that contest. con-test. With this score and . the Scripture Chase accumulation accumula-tion of 26, they , won the Jun-ior Jun-ior division of the program. Blanding took first in the Senior division of the Scripture Scrip-ture Chase with a total of 10 points. Monticello placed in the number one spot in the Seminary ' Bowl competition with 125 points.- They ;also took the Senior Division of the program with a total score of 132. The final totals were Blanding 232, Monticello Monticel-lo 231 and Moab 230. Tho Scripture Chase competition com-petition consisted of a speed contest in finding designated scriptures in the appropriate Standard Works - the Old and New Testaments, the Book of Mormon, and the Doctrine in Covenants, The Pearl of Great Price. The Seminary Bowl was a contest con-test of questions to . be answered' ans-wered' by memory. The team to answer the "toos-up-ques-tions" earned "the opportunity to accumulate bonus points. Contestants were served luncheon after the program. |
