Show Civil Defense Matters Viewed By Commission Civil Defense Director for Grand County, Floyce Wells, appeared before the Grand County Commission at their meeting Monday, Sept. 8. - Mrs. Wells informed the Commissioners of a meeting concerning Civil Defense Community Shelters. Einar H. Johnson, an architect for the Community Shelter Planning Plan-ning Office for the State plans to be in Moab Wednesday, Sept. 24 to meet with civic leaders to get correct information infor-mation from them concerning concern-ing possible location of shelters shel-ters and supplies. Mr. Johnson John-son will then prepare a fold-out fold-out for distribution to Grand County citizens with a map of available shelters and emergency em-ergency cover. This map will have sections for the people of Moab, Elgin, Cisco, and Thompson, as well as emergency emer-gency shelter areas along the new section of 1-70, according accord-ing to Mrs. Wells. The drawings draw-ings will also show supply caches. At the present time there are supplies only in the shelters in the courthouse and the basement of the Junior High, "she added. Any person who is civic-minded civic-minded is invited to attend this meeting and add his knowledge to help the citizens citi-zens of Grand County, Mrs. Wells said. Mrs. Wells reported that there was a great need for people in the community to fake shelter management courses.
