Show Small Plane Crashes, Kills Pilot By Barbara Ekker A Funk single engine air-craft air-craft was sighted at noon Thursdav by Jim Hurst, Green River Aviation. 30 miles Southeast of Hanks-vilie Hanks-vilie on the abandoned Simolot airstrip. The pilot. William James Ramsay. 48, of Hayward. Calif., had been exploring in that area and had made contact with Hurst earlier in the week to check on him. Sheriff Elvin Robison, Hanksville, and Deputy Sheriff, Warren Clark, Loa, drove to the site that afternoon af-ternoon and found the pilot dead, apparently killed instantly in-stantly when his craft crash landed on the abandoned aban-doned strip. The body was brought to Hanksville and taken by ambulance to Price mortuary by Butch Bullard. |
