Show Councilman Injured in Bike Accident City Councilman Jerry Bon-ser Bon-ser is doing as well as can be eipecled this week, following surgery required to repair a broken ankle suffered Oct. 19. Bonscr was nding t motor bike on the Slick Rock Trail at about 4 p. m. Sunday. Ingoing up i hill, the bike powered out and fliped him. breaking an ankle in 2 places. Fid Burton, a companion on the jaunt, rode back into town and called the ambulance. A group of abivut 20 people hiked in to him with a litter, which tivok about 1 1 i hours, and carried him to w here Larry-Row Larry-Row ley's jeep had been left. From there he was jceped to the waiting ambulance, which brought him in to Allen Mcnurial Hospital at about 8:30 p.m. He was transferred to Grand Junction for surgery, which was performed Monday, and he is expected to be released from the hospital Oct. 23. Surgery done included insertion insert-ion of a pin in his ankle. Members of the local Red Cross Chapter, Sheriffs Jeep Posse, Ambulance Association and others assisted in the rescue. |
