Show Rape crisis workshop scheduled in Price Rape can be a very traumatic trauma-tic and devastating .experience .experi-ence for victims. To help decrease these effects on the victim, a rape crisis workshop has been scheduled in Price on January 25, 26, and 27. The purpose of the workshop work-shop is to educate the public by making them more aware of the safeguards they can use to prevent rape. There are also sessions geared to train the medical community, law enforcement agencies, attor-nies, attor-nies, social service and school counselors, clergy and EMTs in sensitivity to the needs and long term care of the victims. Billie Simone from the Four Corners Community Mental Health center has been instrumental instru-mental in coordinating the cooperative efforts of AOG, Price City, Carbon County and Carbon Hospital to bring this much needed workshop into the area. Christine Waters, director of the Rape Crisis center in Salt Lake City, and members of her team are assisting the workshop. A schedule of activities ac-tivities follows: January 25: 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., Geary Theater general presentation for public 16 years and older. January 26: 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Mental Health Staff and all counselors training session; ses-sion; 9 a.m. to 12 noon, police training sessions in Price; 1:30 p.m., legal workshop for attornies and judges; 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., police training session in Castle Dale; 6:45 p.m., police training session in Price. January 27: 8 to 9 a.m., nursing personnel training session; 9 a.m. to 12 noon, nursing personnel and EMT training session; 5 to 6 p.m., nursing personnel training session; 6 to 9 p.m., nursing personnel and EMT training session. |
