Show VXX f-Vl :.i Sharon Patterson Moab Student Runnerup In Contest Miss Sharon Patterson, daughter dau-ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Pat' Patterson of Moab was recently recent-ly named first runner-up in the "Belle of the Y" contest at Brigham Young University. Univers-ity. A 19-year old sophomore majoring in elementary education, edu-cation, Miss Patterson was sponsored in the contest by the BYU 81st Ward. She was joined in the royal trio by Belle Kathi Sharbo of Belle Fourch, South Dakota, and second attendant BecKy Heninger of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Ida-ho. The annual "Belle of th? Y" contest, which is staged in an effort to find the ideal all-around co-ed, includes several rounds of compeffiion lasting for nearly a month. Candidates for the title compete in contests of beauty poise and personality; creative crea-tive arts; homemaking; dancing danc-ing ability; culture; talent; popularity; and personality. A field of 122 contestants was involved in this year's contest at its outset. The annual an-nual contest was co-sponsored by two BYU service organizations, organiza-tions, Y Calcares and Intercollegiate Inter-collegiate Knights. |
