Show Annual Dance Revue -Set for Saturday Kit's Dance Studio will present pre-sent it's annual Dance Revue Re-vue Saturday, May 16, at the Helen Knight auditorium, at 7:30 p.m. The colorful Broadway musical, mu-sical, Finian's Rainbow, will star Miss JuJie Markle as the leprechaun, Og; Cheryl Miller Mil-ler as Woody, and Kristy Anderson An-derson and Lotus Nelson as Sharon. Tiny Merrie Beth Stewart takes the part of the dancer, Susan. Finian, played by Fred Astaire in the movie, is danced by a Monticello Intermediate In-termediate student, Janie Ro-ring. Ro-ring. Group dances feature both Monticello and Moab students stu-dents in the show's familiar tunes: Look to the Rainbow, When I'm Not Near the Girl I Love, Old Devil Moon, Necessity, Ne-cessity, Something Sort of Gra.ndis'h and The Begats. Narration will be spoken by Mrs. Tharla Holyoak, from Monticello. The first half of the show, featuring a variety of dances, includes tap, ballet, hawaiiaiv jazz and several creative dances choreographed by the students themselves. These are "Sadie, Sadie" by Lotus Nelson (from Funny Girl), "Waltz of Flowers," by Valerie Val-erie Mays and Susan Shafer, "Raindrops" by Joyce Stewart, Stew-art, a beginner, "I Like Onions" On-ions" by Cheryl Miller and Kristy Anderson, and two modern jazz dances by the Markle sisters, Julie and Kathy. Original dances from Monticello Monti-cello include the three Smith sisters as "blue panthers", Diane and Helen Carlson as disagreeing prospectors and the Thomas twins, LeArm and Lorraine, who dance an intricate tap to "Me and My Shadow." Beginner students will do a cowboy tap to "Don't Fence Me In," and appear later in the cute jazz dance, 'No Can Do." They are: Sena Taylor, Kathy Balsley, Ro?;e Mashaw, Lea Margaret Johnson, Jackie Crain, Cindy Hart and Joyce Stewart. With colorful costumes, an exciting story and lovely tunes, the show promises to be outstanding. Hhis marks the first time in fifteen years 9:nce Mrs. Walker began teaching, that she has combined com-bined students from two areas in one joint revue. The following Saturday, May 23, the en'ire show will move to Monticello High, where it will be performed at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited. Admission Ad-mission for adults is $1. Children Child-ren with parents are admitted admit-ted free. |
