May 11, eleven Second Grade Confraternity Confra-ternity of Christian Doctrine students received First Holy Communion during the 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Pius X Ca'holic Church. They were Barbara Groff, Shawn Mult;gan, Kerry Wall-is, Christine Kirght, Patricia Patri-cia Adkison. Mary Lucken- b'H , Lf.rry Backus, Edgar Kecgh, Steven E. Wiesel-maim, Wiesel-maim, Manuel Sanchez and Jeffrey Thomas (omitted from picture). Pictured with' thorn are Pastor Fr. During the preparatory instruction in-struction period emphas'is was plp.ced on the role of the parents in preparing children child-ren for this step in their lives. Parents attended two sessions in which the communal com-munal aspect of the Eucharist Euchar-ist was discussed and illustrated. illus-trated. Each of the First Communicants was accompanied accom-panied by his paren's during the reception of the Eucharist. Euchar-ist. Later other family members mem-bers followed. Fr. Wixted. during his homily hom-ily welcomed the children to the Banquet Table of the Lcrd, and congratulated their paren's on the interest and example they had shown.
