Show Snow Count Looks Good On LaSals John Esplin of the Soil Conservation Service and Forester Jerry Hofer Wednesday Wed-nesday took snow measurements measure-ments on the LaSal Mountains Moun-tains and found, that despite des-pite recent months with little snow, the measurements measure-ments were very close to those of last year. On the lower snow course cour-se at 8,800 feet, there was 26.4 inches "of snow with 7.6 inches of moisture of 117 per cent of average. Last year at this time there were 26.5 inches of snow but only 6.8 inches of water. At the 9,400 foot level on the upper course, there was 46.1 inches of snow with , a water Content of 12.6 inches. 113 per cent of average. Last year there were only 45 inches of snow with a water content of 12.5 inches. T The men also reported that there had been 2.23 inches of precipitation since the course was measured mea-sured on Dec. 23, 1970. |
