Show Midland Open House to Highlight Massive Construction Program Friday, Midland Telephone Tele-phone Company will be hosting residents from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. to tours of their newly opened plant facilities and offices. The tour will include displays and illustrations of progress made by the company as part of its $3.o million expansion program which was announced in 1968. Included in new additions ad-ditions at the facility is a new switchboard with 12 positions for operators. This replaces an old switchboard which only accomodated ac-comodated three operators. The switchboard daily completes about 1500 long distance calls and 500 more are plrced but not completed. Ger.eral Manager of Midland, J. Wallace Cor-bin, Cor-bin, announced that approximately ap-proximately $1,900,000- in the $3.5 million expansion and rejuvenation program had been completed with an additional $750,000 committed com-mitted for 1971 and $750, 000 proposed for 1972. The new center is part of a .$3.5 million expansion ex-pansion project. |
