Show Mobile home destroyed by fire A fire Tuesday morning totally destroyed a mobile home at Shafer Trailer Court on North Main. The blaze, which was reported to the Grand Valley Fire Dept. shortly before noon, gutted a trailer rented by the Bill Williams family. Fire Dept. spokesman Dick Hammer reported that Mr. and Mrs. Wril-liams Wril-liams were asleep at the time and awoke to find the front portion of the trailer, in flames. They escaped' through a rear door with their two children. An intense effort by Grand Valley firefighters' failed to halt the flames before the trailer and contents and an adjacent shed were destroyed. Tuesday afternoon a S50 donation was made to the Williams family by the Moab Lions Club. A relief effort to aid the family has been organized. Concerned Concern-ed residents are asked to donate kitchen and household house-hold goods, furniture, food and clothing. Mr. Williams is 22 years old, about 5'8", medium build and wears men's medium size 9 or 9'2 shoes. Mrs. Williams is about 5'3", size 8 or 10. They have two girls, one size 2, one 12-month size. Donations can be taken to the fire station Thursday Thurs-day or Friday between 5 and 8 p.m. The family is currently staying with relatives at space 27, Holiday Haven. |
