Show help with the campaign This Saturday marks the annual cleanup campaign cam-paign sponsored jointly by Moab City and Grand County. As always, many people have offered suggestions sug-gestions for areas which should be cleaned during the day-long event, however, few people have actually come forward and volunteered their services for this worthy project. A community cleanup is a good chance for everyone every-one in town to work to put their best face forward for the next year and certainly litter problems are detrimental to us all. For this one time during the year, we should put aside our other chores and help to make Moab a little nicer place to live. This is also the prime opportunity for those of us who do not have utility trailers or other means of getting refuse to the dump to have access to heavy equipment and operators who will do it. All that is asked is that stacked refuse be placed near the curb so that a front end loader will have easy access to it. Everyone who calls with requests for aid will be sure to receive it and residents are asked to cooperate in this program. In addition to helping residents who are unable to remove their refuse alone, the cleanup campaign this year will be placing considerable emphasis in making Moab's main street more presentable. This one phase of the project requires a considerable amount of manpower and all volunteers are welcome. As always, special appreciation goes to the City and County road crew men, who donate their time every year to help make this cleanup successful. success-ful. Most of the rest of us take time out once every few years, if at all. to help with the project, while these men are available and willing to help every year. Those persons in need of assistance on Saturday Satur-day are asked to call Loraine Hofer after 5 p.m. or to get in touch with other members of the cleanup campaign. Volunteers should also contact Mrs. Hofer or they may meet at the Courthouse on Saturday at 9 a.m. |
