Show tAV' v v: - ---I'll :t- A'-mv Glen P. and Merentha Johnson of Hanksville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Saturday, April 14, from 8 to 10 p.m. Hanksville News. . . Ray Scheweitzer, a tree surgeon, and Hugh Black, and friends from Orange, California stopped Sunday and visited the Jess Ekkers en route to a few days on Powell boating. This is a yearly affair for these people. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Ekker and children were visitors here from Green River Sunday. They visited his mother and brothers and looked over some property he's hoping to purchase. The State Music meet was held over the weekend week-end at Skyline High at Bountiful. Forty five students competed from Wayne High, which included in-cluded a vocal group and the stage band. They met Green River students there. Both groups were supervised by their music directors, Mr. Keele for Wayne and Mrs. Judy Evans for Green River. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Har-old Ekker are in Salt Lake this weekend having dental work done and are visiting her sister, sis-ter, Mr. and Mrs. Mavor Gatehouse. Miss Judy Johnson is substituting at the school for Mrs. Ekker. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Ever-ett Ekker and children, Blanding, and Mr. and Mrs. Riter Ekker, Hanksville, attended the wedding and reception of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Niels on in Richfield Friday. Mrs. Nielson is the former Desiree Ekker. Mr. and Mrs. Darys Ekker visited her mother, Mrs. Edna Lance, and other family members in Pay son over the weekend and stopped enroute home at Price to visit Connie Hoggatt, their daughter and .Frank Lawler at the Nursing ( Home. They also drove home in a new chev. station-wagon. Mrs. Jeannine Hunt was in Bicknell during the week caring for the Sherwood Albrecht children chil-dren while their mother, Ranae, attended Primary Prim-ary conference in Salt Lake. Danny Albrecht, Dale Johnson, Kevan Rob-ison, Rob-ison, Russell Codwell. Rita Ekker, Karen and Brenda Sellers of Hanksville, attended the Wrestlers Banquet in Loa Friday at the Knotty Pine. Wayne's team and their dates, the cheerleaders, cheer-leaders, and coach Balla were in attendance. Many activities are brewing in the community comm-unity for the up and coming weekends. First off on the 14th is the Glen P. Johnson 50th wedding anniversary get together. On the Piaster weekend is a candy sale sponsored by the school, followed with a cook-out cook-out on the 28th. $ Mrs. Genineve Crowther, County Health Nurse made her final visit to Hanksville school Monday before departing the 28th for Independence, Missouri where she and her husband, hus-band, Sam, will serve a two year mission. They will be tourguides for the new visitors center cen-ter and are looking forward for-ward to this position. The Crowihers are Salina residents but thru her work in the Public Health Dept. and his work as former bishop there, everyone in a five county area knows them both as close friends and neighbors.
