Show Devil JV Team Ends Play For Season Wifh Victory By David Hasemyer Capping off the 72-73 cage season for J.V. play the GCHS Red Devils defeated de-feated the San JuanJ.V.'s 48-34. During the first period action the Devils .and Broncos played even ball. The Devils opened up a 10 point lead mid-way through the quarter, this however, was cut to 3, 16-13, at the end of the period. An even stand off occurred oc-curred during the second period, with both Devils and Broncos trying to seize control. In the battle bat-tle for control both teams scored 13 and thus a 29-26 29-26 half-time lead for the Devils. The Devils took control of the Broncos and the game in the third period of play. Nineteen points were gained by the Devils while holding San Juan to eight. With this scoring outburst the Devils held a 48-34 lead going into the fourth quarter. Again in the final period the Devils busted past San Juan in a scoring spree, the Devils put in 23 and allowed only 8. This gave the Devils a 21 win over all season record. re-cord. "This is the best Junior Varsity team I've ever had." according to Coach Del Ford. Taking the Devils to victory was Stan Baker with 12,MarkMarksberry and Kenny Roberts each got 9.
