Show Salt Lake Chamber Group Will Visit Here This Week A group representing the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce, the Salt Shakers, will be in Moab this week, it was announced by Chamber of Commerce President Dixie Barker Tuesday at the Chamber Cham-ber meeting. A breakfast will be held with Chamber members at the Ramada Inn Friday at 7 a.m. for the public relations group which is traveling throughout Utah to visit all Chamber of Commerces in the state. A report on the Bike Safari was given by Rod Phillips who said participants had a good time even though few attended. attend-ed. Attention was drawn to the fact that Mother's Day weekend week-end probably had a lot to do with the low attendance which was the case in other Bike Safari's held throughout the state. A permanent Jeep safari committee has been established establish-ed and was announced by Connie Caouette. Committee members will be: Bob Anderson. Ander-son. Jim West. Harold Jacobs, and Chuck McMurray. Connie also urged Chamber members to participate in the Canyon-lands Canyon-lands Rodeo parade when a Bicentennial covered wagon will be here. Bud Lincoln informed the Chamber that filming will commence for "Ride a Crooked Crook-ed Sky" June 16 and will last about four weeks. It is expected that S500.000 should be brought into the community as a result of the production. Anyone wishing to help with the Friendship Feast to be served to boaters at the end of the Friendship Cruise at the Moab Boat Dock should contact Barbara Peterson. |
