Show "Between the Lines" With Tiliie Tattler Of Green River Tillie Tatler here, writtin' you all the important news from Green River, Utah I've got front page news, and back page news, and headline news, and just plain ole news; but the news I really specialize special-ize in is the "between the lines" news ! Guess you know that ve here in Green River hold a sort of a dubious hono-we gat about one cop for every 175 people. Yep, that's what I saidseven oops ! I don't know if we are really deserving, deserv-ing, or not, but like the commercial com-mercial for (lie amti-perspir-ent says, "we gott extra protection" pro-tection" - i, The 4-H horse groups are gettin' ready for a year of action and everybody is glad thalt they have leaders who are willing to put forth the 'tiimfe and effort necessary. Some of us' do get a bit sentimental sen-timental though, when' we remember re-member the old Saddle Pai organization. Seems to bad to see such a great group go by the wayside. Dr. Puis, a veternarian from Price, has been making regiilar trips to Green River. Riv-er. This is much appreciated. All us "do it yourself" veta are hopin' that he will find (it profitable enoulgh to keep on cdmin'. You know, I never thought I'd see the day when an ole Green River booster like me would say that this town has gone to the dogs, but that's what I'm spyin'. We got a long standin' problem and as a sort of last (ahem) outpost out-post (so to speak), we now have a dog trap. Yep, that's what I said a dog trap !, No don't go gettin' all uptight (as the kids say) and call the Humane Society, nobody gets hurt unless its the City employee whose job it is to take ithe dog out of the trap. Anyway, I wonder if anyone has any suggestions as to what we can do with all these cats we're caitchin', OH, say, I got so carried away just gabbin' about this and that I forgolt to tell you about the city clean-up. We got our annual three days of work out of the Emery County equipment and I gotta admit they were really busy for those three days. Just doesn't seem fair that we get them only three days of 3G5. Twice a year for three deys per trip shouldn't be too much to a'sk, now should it'? The County equipment left! town on Friday, March 20, but the city is still going strong. At the March City Council meeting the city up and created cre-ated an office of City Inspector. Inspec-tor. Now, all we got to do is find a dedicated, couragous soul to take the job ! Also, out City Fathers are looking! for a community minded organization or-ganization to head the City BeautificatkM Drive. Last year they tried assigning each organization a different section of town, but that really didn't work out too good. Maybe what we need to do is to call Doc and sea if he can't give everybody in 'the community a shot cf PRIDE ! Well, this is Tillie Tattler: and I'm sayin' "by" for now. You'll be hearin' from me again next week If the gooii Lord's willin' and the U.S. Postal Department doesn't lose my news motes again I |
