Show Funeral Services For Ace Turner Set for Friday Funeral services will ho he'd Friday for Ace Melvin Turner, 58, a lifetime resident of Moab wh died suddenly Tuesday morning en route to Salt Lake City. Mr. Turner wr.-: born October Oc-tober 17, 191 1. in Moab to Fred Luther and Kdna Wilson Tur-nir. Tur-nir. His mother survives. On April 15. 1933, he married Lo-lia Lo-lia P. Duncan of Moab wr.o also survives. As a native to this area, Mr Turner worked in the mining business for many years. lie was one of the f.-rst vanadium miners in the 1930's and mined and trucked his own cre. He then moved to Idaho whore he contracted to do hauling of potatoes for several years. Another move brou'ht him back to Moab where he was actively involved invol-ved in pro:,-ot.i.g and mining min-ing for uranium. About 5 years ago he retired retir-ed and moved to Aurora where he has Ix-en living S nee that time He joined the Masonic Ixlgc while living In Moab lie Ls survived by his mother, moth-er, wife, s-n and daughters; Larry, Gallup, New Mexico: Mrs. Hebert (Wilene) Shum-way, Shum-way, Moab; Mrs Cleoiie (Judy) Langley, Moab; and Mrs. Roger (Jackie) RivenLs of Bakersfield Calif He- has two brothers and two sisters sis-ters who are also Living: Jack of Salt Lake City, Don .of Richmond, Calif., Mrs. Eva Taylor, Aurora, Utah; Mrs Lena Stocks, Moab. There are 14 grandchildren who survive. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. under the direction cf the Turner Funeral Fun-eral Home. |
