Show City Discusses Curb, Gutter At Meeting City Council members met in special session Tuesday night in the Council Chambers Cham-bers cf the courthouse ta dicuss possible bond.ng of a project that would provide curbs, gutters and paving for Uuse streets within the city that do not already have thx;e tilings. A representative of Hani-fen, Hani-fen, Imhoff. and Samford, Inc., a Denver bonding company, com-pany, was on hand to discuss dis-cuss the "matter w.th (he Council. The representative. Bud Peiffer, told the coun-cilmen coun-cilmen that funding for the project, an estimated $4r0 thousand expense, could be r-pread out over a 10 year period, although work could be accomplished in about one year's time. In th's project, between 9 and ID mEes of curbing and gutters will be installed and about i miles of streets will be paved. Costs fcr paving the st reels will be borne by the City, while property owners own-ers will pay for the curb and gutter work along their property. pro-perty. Mayor Winford Bunce stated stat-ed that a survey would be conducted within the next two weeks to see if the majority ma-jority of people who wouid be affected are in agreement with the work being done. Persons who also wish to have sidewalks installed at their homes may have them done under the project with the same type of financing. The Mayor stated that with payment spread out over a ten year period, the cost per year would not be more than the City is now paying to do only small sections of the road work annually. This work, if approved by the majority of the people it will affect, will be contracted contract-ed in September and should be finished by some time in spring 1971. |
