Show Land Board Defers Action On Local Land The State Land Board on Nov. 19 deferred decision on a request from the Monte Cristo Corp., Moab, that the state acquire 15,060 acres of land southwest of the Texas Gulf Sulphur Cc. potash mine. Monte Cristo wants the land on Bridger Jack Mesa because of rich potash deposits de-posits below it. Because of the depth of the minerals, a solution method of extraction extrac-tion might be necessary, board members were told. The Moab group wants the slate to take title and lease the land to it. Board members also deferred defer-red action on a proposal from Leisure Sports, Inc., Las Vegas, to lease 1.930 acn-s of mountainous state land between Beaver and Scipio for use as a winter sports area. Terms and costs will have to be worked out. |
