Show Personnel at pool best qualified ever Mary S. Martin, manager mana-ger of the Moab Swim Center reports she is proud of her crew this summer. She said, "We are starting the season better able to serve the public than ever"1 before. ' ' She explained, each guard has completed a water safety course, which has required 36 hours of extensive training from Pay Kaye, instructor-trainer instructor-trainer of the American Red Cross. Said Ms. Martin, this normally is a 3-week course, but with the ability of the crew, they were able to cover all the knowledge, ability and skill in four 8-hour days. At the same time they were keeping the pool open 4 hours each day for the public, she said. Each guard passed and now is a qualified water safety instructor, which means each has the ability to teach beginners, intermediate swimmers, advanced swimmers, junior jun-ior and senior livesaving, survival swimming, and train swimming aides. i She said, "We, Mary j Martin, manager, Teresa i Duncan, assistant mana- ' ger, Ken Nielson, Emily , Hefner, Ed Nielson, Vicky 1 Dunn, Fawn Bennett, ( Cindy Martin and Shirley i Nelson, are prepared to j carry a very compre- i hensive swimming pro- 1 gram at the center this ( season." The schedule consists ( of: adult swimming, 6:30 i to 8 a.m. with 8 people ' attending and room for i more; lessons from 9 a.m. 1 to noon with 106 children enrolled in the first i session: 1 Classes are offered for i swimmers, boy and girl 1 scouts, handicapped, rac- i ing and water show.
