Show aV'M-SVSk'-V : Mr ' t i Rev. Mervyn Bauer, the new pastor of the Grace Lutheran Church, his wife, Judy, and sons Michael and Aaron, come to Moab from Latimer, Iowa. He will begin his ministry here with Installation Service on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. Grace Lutheran Church Welcomes New Pastor After several years of vacancy vac-ancy pastorship Grace Lutheran Luth-eran Church is looking forward for-ward to the arrival of their new full-time pastor. Rev. Mervyn Bauer. Rev. Bauer was born in 1941 in Bismarck, North Dakota. Da-kota. He was one of ten children of Mr. and Mrs. Theophil Bauer who farmed in the Bismarck area. His high school education was received at New Salem, North Dakota. He began his educational training for the Lutheran ministry by attending Concordia Concor-dia College, St. Paul, Minnesota Minne-sota and Concordia Senior College, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. The Bachelor of Divinity Degree was awarded to Rev. Bauer at Concordia Seminary, Springfield, Illinois in 1969. Following his second year of seminary. Rev. and Mrs. Bauer Bau-er spent a year in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to fulfill the requirements of his vicarage. Since his ordination, he has served a dual parish at Lehr and Napoleon, North Dakota. During this time. Pastor Bauer Bau-er also served on the District Youth Board of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod and as District Assistant Secretary. Secreta-ry. Pastor Bauer has come to Moab from Latimer, Iowa where he served as pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church which also had a large Christian Christ-ian Day School. While in Iowa, he served as District Director for Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ, as Circuit Evangelism Chairman, and was heard weekly over the Iowa Falls, Iowa radio broadcasting network. net-work. Rev. Bauer is married to the former Miss Judy Fisher of Fort Wayne, Indiana. They are the parents of two sons, Michael David, 6, and Aaron Wade, 3. Rev. Bauer will begin his ministry in Moab with the Installation Service on Sunday, Sun-day, Feb. 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church. Attending guest pastors will be Rev. Marion Hofman, Counselor for the Western Circuit from Delta who will serve as guest speaker; Rev. Marcus Lange who is pastor at Grand Junction and will serve as liturgist; Rev. Dale Schultz, counselor for the Four Corners Circuit, Cortex and who will administer the Rite of Installation; and Mrs. Virginia Hennemon from Trinity Tri-nity Lutheran, Cortez, Colo, will serve as guest organist.
