Show Educational Objectives in Utah To be Studied by Commission Educational objectives and curriculum direction for tomorrow's to-morrow's schools will be discussed dis-cussed Sept. 24 when the State Course of Study Committee Com-mittee and Hextbook Coif mission meets in State Board of Education headquarters in Salt Lake City. The State Course of Study Committee - Texabook Commission Com-mission is the legal agency in Utah for establishing the aims, purposes, objectives, and philosophy of public education, ed-ucation, explains Dr. Lerue Winget, deputy state school, superintendent in charge of instruction. The agency also is responsible respon-sible for determining courses of study and selecting textbooks text-books to be used in the schools, Dr. Winget said. Members of the commission commis-sion include Dr. T. H. Bell, state school superintendent., who servs as chairman; Dr. Oral L. Ballam, dean of the College- of Education at Utah State University; Dr. Steph-. en P. Hencley, dean of the State College of Education, University of Utah; Superintendent Superin-tendent T. Lavoy Esplin of Washington School District; Superintendent Sherman G. Eyre of Logan School Dis trict; Superintendent Bernell Wrigley, Davis District; and the "following persons recent ly reappointed to the commission com-mission by Governor Calvin L. Rampton: Mrs. Loretta Cline, Salt Lake City; Dr. McRay Clow-ard. Clow-ard. College of Southern Utah, Ut-ah, Cedar City; Mrs. E. E. Erickson, Salt Lake City; Harold A. Schlueter, Heber City, and Karl Shisler, Roosevelt. Roose-velt. Dr. Winget serves as secretary sec-retary to the commission.
