Show Programs to Upgrade Education Outlined Here Several projects to he undertaken un-dertaken this year for upgrading up-grading educational opportunities oppor-tunities for students In Grand county schools were present-i'd present-i'd to the Hoard of Education Monday evening by Superintendent Superin-tendent C. Robert Sundwall. The projects included completion com-pletion of a study initiated last year to describe curriculum curric-ulum goals and objectives; a study to consider attitudes within the secondary schools; administrative organization of special services; effect of departmentalization in the elementary grades; and co ordinaling need.1 occurring with the increased use of educational ed-ucational television. Mr. Sundwall stated that goals providing for more definite de-finite and uniform achievement achieve-ment are needed. To establish estab-lish such goals will specify aims for the educational op portunities offered and the achievement which students are expected to attain. Th2 goals as set for the anticipated antici-pated achievement for students stu-dents at the completion of high school with the objectives objec-tives for each grade level needed in obtaining the overall over-all goals. Committees have been for med and considerable work lias been done on this project, pro-ject, Sundwall stated. Recognizing that special problems exist in the secon- dary schools, a study Is being be-ing made to determine where changes might he advisabli in areas other Ihan currieu-lum currieu-lum which might help al-Heviale al-Heviale such problems.
