Show High School Enrollment Hits 374 Mark Grand County High School enrollment reached the 374 mark by classtime Monday morning, and it appears there are more to come, Principal Jeston Blewitt announced. The enrollment is now 27 students above the highest recorded last year-18 year-18 students have registered register-ed since the opening of the Fall term a week ago. Mr. Blewitt said the heavy enrollment was creating space problems at the school. Several classes are running full, but if smaller chairs can be obtained ob-tained the new registrants can be worked in. There is also a teacher shortage, Mr. Blewitt noted. The . school . is operating with 27 . more students and one less teacher than last year. The Principal said it ao-pear ao-pear that employment at Atlas Minerals and Texas Gulf Sulphur is responsible responsi-ble for the major portion of the new students. At the present time there are 131 students in fthe sophomore class, 67 boys, 64 girls; 129 Juniors 78 boys, 51 girls; and 114 seniors, 64 boys, 50 girls. j |
