Show t ' f ' '. .. i A WINNER This 1957 "stocker" owned by Dennis Francis, Don Baldwin Bald-win nd Blaine Stevens, shown here with Stevens and Baldwin after bring-home bring-home honors from a weekend meet at the Grand Junction Midway Drag Strip. The "Little Tiger" won its class trophy, then advanced to the eliminator elimin-ator group which contains all stock car classes. Winning this, the car had to run against the winner of super stock eliminators, and won again which pitted it against the top street eliminator winners. The Moab car, driven dri-ven by Stevens, won in all races, and ended up the top car of the day. Due to ownership difficulties, the race marked the last time the Grand Junction Junc-tion strip will be used. This means that the closest sanctioned strip for some 15 to 20 Grand Junction competitors compet-itors will be the Moab strip, according accord-ing to Stevens. , . (Spencer Photo) |
