He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Francis, of Moab. Second scholastically in the class of 100 is Martin Twitchell, Class Saluta-tarian, Saluta-tarian, with a grade point average of 3.56. Twitchell's last-quarter subjects include in-clude American Problems, Speech, English, Advanced Math, History, Distributive Education and Band. He will receive a 4-year manufacturing manu-facturing engineering scholarship sch-olarship at Utah State University. He has been a member of the National Honor Society both in Junior Jun-ior and senior high school and held offices in both schools. He is the son of Mrs. Thora Twitchell, of Moab. Other students named in the top ten scholastic bracket are: Juliann Dickerson, Dick-erson, 3.55; Joe Shoemaker, Shoemak-er, 3.44; Michael U. Bailey, Bail-ey, 3.43; Kathleen Keogh, 3.40; Beverley Neal. 3.37; Gary Berna, 3.36; Pamela Fedrizzi, 3.34; and Lillian Imboden, 3.26. Scholarships Scholar-ships and awards for these and other outstanding students, will be announced announc-ed at the annual awards night at the school, slated for Monday evening, May 22. Parents are invited to attend. Prior to presentation of awards, the Moab Rotary Club will officially turn over to the School the grand stand bleachers, observation ob-servation tower and concession con-cession stand. The formalities formal-ities are scheduled for 7:45 p.m. Annual Class Night e-vents e-vents are slated at the high school at 8 ip.m. Tuesday Tues-day evening, May 23. Principal Prin-cipal Blewitt has requested request-ed all wills and prophesies be submitted in typewritten typewrit-ten form to his offices this , week for- review by him, and the class officers. Parents Par-ents are invited. Baccalureate Services are scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday, Fri-day, May 21, at the LDS Church. Speaker will be The Rev. Myrle Horner, pastor of the Community Baptist Church, in Moab. His subject, "Home Town Heritage." Commencement Exercises will be held in the high school gymnasium at 8 p. m. Friday ,May 26. Following the Graduation Gradua-tion the Moab Rotary Club will host the traditional All-Nigh t Party for the graduates and their partners. part-ners. The event will be held at Moab Lanes. Senior Class officers are President, Greg Robertson; Secretary - treasurer, Pam Fedrizzi. Class Motto is "Truth is the light which guides man's way through the darkness of ignorance" colors are Royal Purple and Gold, and the Class Flower is the Orchid. |
