This .Standard Garage toam plays Tooele next week, so it will be a duel between Lopez and Poulus, the league leader. The game between the Bingham Bing-ham Miners and Bern's Pure Foods of Midvale wu a thriller. Amudeo Pino for the Pure Food boys played a whale of a game. The Miners cume through in the last few minutes to win. "Red" Kalian dunked several buckets right in the clinch for the 'hard rockers." This boy Allred for Tooele is one of the best in the league. A big rugged fellow, great under the basket and a good floor man. McHendrick is another good man for the Tooele team. Mac is good on defense and a good eye from outside the foul circle. The coming game between the high school team and the Standard Stand-ard Garage team is causing plenty plen-ty of talk. They played an informal in-formal game Tuesday night and the high school boys won 39 to 35. Both squads only had five men so they agreed to meet Friday Fri-day (tonight) with full squads. The Minors showed better form t the foul line in the game Tuesday Tues-day than they have all season. The Garage men were off the first half, but they say they can take them tonight. The high school kills say Tuesday was no fluke and tonight they will prove it. Who will win? Your guess is as good as anyones. My guess is, I wouldn't miss it. o , THIMBLE DERBY Last week's Thimble derby was won by Donnie Tyson for the second time. The Taylor boys . Raymond and Jack, finished second sec-ond and third respectively. Next Saturday are the finals with just the heat winners qualified. quali-fied. Here they are: Donnie Tyson, Ty-son, Bussio Strand and Raymond Taylor. When these boys start spinning those thimble sized racers, some records are bound to fall. The best time so far has been 11 seconds for the 10 laps on a 15 foot string. Donnie is the record holder. .
