Better take a basketball with you Arne and introduce the game in Scandinavia. Scandin-avia. Keith Deakin, who played with the Carr Fork Bums, has moved to Copperton. Keith is a good shot and is fast. We think Keith will be a good athlete one of these days. Merlin Coleman, who played with the Copperton Foxes, is now playing with the Frogtown Frogs. This boy has good action and is a good ball rustler. Roy Christensen is a youngster young-ster who has become interested in basketball and promises to keep improving. He has good size. Nick Rekoutis and Dick Houghton Hough-ton are two little fellows who come to the gym often and gather gath-er together a team of seventh graders who give all the smaller boys a rough time. Both are excellent ex-cellent basketball players. Raymond Hall and Richard Allsop, who play with the Schmalls, are two large boys who have improved with play this winter. Both boys are also members of the junior high basketball bas-ketball team. , Coach Warren G. Allsop will carry our recreational program on, beginning on March 1. We pick as the star of the week Edward Gaythwaite of the Sch-molls. Sch-molls. Edward has starred in practically every game of the year. Though a little slow, he is an exceptional shot and has been an inspiration to his team. Edward Ed-ward is a modest boy with good comoetitive ability and desire. He always says "If I've made a high score in any game, it's because be-cause the other fellows set them up for me." SALT LAKE COUNTY RECREATION Eugene Wright, forward for the Copperton Tigers, is a boy who has improved his basketball play with every game. He never fails to be with his team. His spirit is great and his promise good. Tommy Johnson who plays with the Bingham, Wildcats, maintains basketball is a lot of fun He started out as a. guard for his team but now does his share of playing forward. Dean Lipsey, manager of the Five Nines, has undergone a minor operation. Dean is a boy who loves competition and tries and gives his best. He is a good shot and all the boys in the recreation re-creation league hope he will be |
