Show BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETS ANO MAKES preparations FOR BEGINNING OF FALL TERM acceptance ot the resignation of the teacher of home economics and the establishment of schools throughout the county were the most important matters taken up by the county board of education at its regular monthly meeting monday present at the meeting were trustees robertson hammond balsley and edwards superintendent mccorkle and clerk mcconkie miss alberta who had been re employed to teach home economics and spanish for the ensuing year tendered her resignation which was accepted by the board it Is understood that miss has a teaching position in provo high school schools were ordered established at thompsons Thomp sons sego valley city elgin cisco and lower valley there was some question as to whether the assured attendance at the turner school at carbon black would justify establishing a school at that point this term superintendent mccorkle was directed to get further information from the superintendent of the works at carbon black as to whether the attendance would be akely to hold up throughout the year whether or not the school Is established at turner will be based on this information school will open throughout the county on sept 2 it was decided by the board C A robertson and H W balsley were appointed a committee of the board to determine as to any additional repairs required tor the high school building and these members with W D hammond were authorized to make some repairs to the grandstand and some changes in the location of the football gridiron with a view to eliminating the handicap of the climb up hill to the players who draw the wrong end of the slope it Is believed possible to obtain practically a level field tor the players the next meeting of the board will ba held sept 3 |
