river bed title case will start sept 5 united states supreme court hearings to settle title to utah beds of the san juan colorado and green rivers will begin in washington D C september 5 philo T farsworth jr salt lake attorney who will represent utah in the case announced friday upon his return from washington the government contends that ownership of the beds should rest with the government because in its opinion they are not navigable for interstate or intrastate commerce utah contends that the rivers are suitable for intrastate commerce and therefore title should rest with the state the hearings mr farsworth said will be before charles warren of washington D C appointed special master to take evidence for the supreme court and will be held in washington denver los angeles and salt lake before the case is concluded before the supreme court in washington
